Happy Holidays!!!

The holidays are quickly approaching and what does every woman need in her closet a LBD...yes that's right! The Little Black Dress...I decided I needed a LONG Black Dress. This dress would be perfect for a holiday party or for a date. When this pattern landed on my sewing table,  I could not wait to make this little number. It fits amazingly and was a very easy sew. Check out my review below...

Pattern Review: Simplicity 8045 Women’s Knit Dress in 2 lengths

Did it look like the photo on the pattern envelope once you were done: Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow: The easiest I’ve come across in a very long time.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern: I loved how quick it was to sew up and how flattering it is on my body

Fabric Used: a textured black ponte

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I pretty much kept every thing the same except I didn’t add the elastic for the rucshing

Would you sew it again:  Yes I would…I can’t wait to make the shorter length and more longer versions.
                                                                     .
Would you recommend it to others: Most certainly!!! 2 thumbs up!

Until next time my loves,
Keep it Sassy, Classy, Sexy, Period.
See you Friday!!

My hope for this blog is to be a beacon of light and hope for someone that doesn't think they can make it... YOU CAN!! I am far from where I want to be, but right where I need to be! I've been working really hard over the last few weeks to get this blog off the ground...and what better season than Fall, where the weather and fashion can change like the color of leaves... Leather & Pearls/Giveaway!!!!

This is a story about Control My Control Control of what I say Control of what I do And this time, I'm gonna do things my way I hope you enjoy this as much as I do Are we ready? I AM Cause it's all about Control and I've got Lots of it! -Janet Jackson A lot easier than said sometimes, when we allow things from our past to control our present and potentially our future you can spiral out of control. So in my case I sew to stay in control and nothing says in control like some leather honey!!! In this dress I felt all the things my blog stands for: Sassy Classy, Sexy, Period. I've had this pattern McCalls 7047 in my stash for quite some time, However when Mimi G did a tutorial for it, of course I had to have my own. I had tons of faux leather in my stash and couldn't wait to tackle it! I opted for no sleeves or peplum (peplums make your bottom look bigger and I don't need any help in that area...LOL) I also loved the train instead of the straight bottom.

Rain Rain Go Away!!

Rain Rain Go Away Come again another day If you should decide to stay I will just be be forced to Slay... Well its been raining a little bit here and what better occasion than to make a raincoat! Who says you can't be Sassy, Classy, and Sexy in the rain? Well I say you can! I got inspired to make this coat when I visited my daughter at college on campus. I went in her bathroom and noticed the nicest shower curtain ever and immediately got an idea to make something out of it...first I thought Maxi Skirt, then I thought a raincoat would be a more feasible idea. So instead of diamonds today this Raincoat is a  girls best friend!! Below is my pattern review of McCalls 6442.
