I'm a Survivor!!!!!

I'm a survivor I'm not gon' give up I'm not gon' stop I'm gon' work harder I'm a survivor I'm gonna make it I will survive Keep on survivin'- Destiny's Child (Dress: Tickled Pink stretch denim and camo maxi dress) I am the epitome of "I don't look like what I've been through", Weighing in a 3 lbs 5 ounces and 3 months premature I was born a survivor. My hope for this blog is to be a beacon of light and hope for someone that doesn't think they can make it... YOU CAN!! I am far from where I want to be, but right where I need to be! I've been working really hard over the last few weeks to get this blog off the ground...and what better season than Fall, where the weather and fashion can change like the color of leaves... Photo cred: Mr. B I know you must be thinking "Why now? Why at this time?" Well, I will tell you why, there is a reason why I did indeed pick this particular time and "

Climbing my way back/My Favorite 17 looks of 2017!

I can almost see it That dream I'm dreaming There's a voice inside my head saying, You'll never reach it... Every step I'm taking Every move I make feels, Lost with no direction My faith was shaking, But I gotta keep trying Gotta keep my head held high... There's always gonna be another mountain I'm always gonna wanna make it move There's always gonna  be an uphill battle Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose, Aint about how fast I get there Aint about what's waiting on the other side... IT'S THE CLIMB!!!                                                                     Miley Cyrus It's been a looooooong time since I last blogged, I've had a whole lot going on. When I first started the blog, it was for the main purpose of showcasing my sewing, however I discovered there are other layers to me besides sewing. Sewing has become a very huge part of my life since started way back in 2013. If you're new to the blog check

#MiMicItMonday Featuring KIerra Sheard!

Happy Monday folks!!! So anyone who has been following my blog knows that I enjoy #MiMicItMonday! It's where I get inspiration from everywhere and I make an attempt to recreate the look. Let me first say that I have been a huge fan of KIerra Sheard since she was a little girl. I have loved watching her evolution especially in the fashion world.  She started  https://myeleven60.com/  and embraced the hashtag #LuvMyThick and at times that WAS hard for me to do, if you can believe it! Through my sewing and learning I am indeed Loving My Thick! I came across the peplum top yesterday on facebook on Kierra's page and I knew I had the perfect fabric to pull this off...Well here is KiKi"s and here's mine...let me know what you guys think! To create this look I used McCalls 7021 for the top and Simplicity 1019 for the pants So until next time,  Learn to Love Your Thick, and  Keep it Sassy, Class, Sexy, Period.

Valentine's Day Weekend!!!

I've been gone for a minute but I'm back to business!! What a weekend I had, which happened to be a 4-day weekend along with Valentine's Day. Now while I personally am a hopeless romantic, I haven't had a more amazing weekend than the one I just shared. Now a little monkey wrench tried to wreck my weekend but my guy wouldn't allow it, and thank goodness for him. He gave me the room to be upset for a little while when we discovered someone has been stealing my photos and taking credit for my work. I didn't know whether to be flattered or insulted at first but insulted, disgusted, frustrated, and flat out pissed off won for a moment.  But as we were driving to our destination (a secret to me, a surprise from him) it started to subside when I saw the lovely mountains of the Poconos,I had never been there! And it was amazing! Our wonderful weekend started in the city on Friday night  to see "Misery" on Broadway with Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf...bo

#FlashbackFriday!!!!/My most FAVORITE FABRIC FIND EVER!!!!

Before I jump into this #FlashbackFriday let me bring you guys up to speed... What a couple of weeks I’ve had!! You know when I started this blogging journey; I didn’t really know what I was getting into. Sewing is my sanity and if I didn’t have it, I might go absolutely mad! Since September I essentially was working 3 jobs (yes 3 jobs) Before Care, Day Job, and After Care. Now while this all took place in one location…I was drained working from 7am to 6pm. I started to notice that let alone was I not having enough time to blog; I was too exhausted to sew! My son who has Autism was doing okay at first but then started to have more frequent meltdowns. I also was in preparation to send my daughter back off to complete her senior year of college with financially issues!! So who do you think had a meltdown next? That would be me and I was not “Tickled Pink” about it! I had to do some reevaluating. While I’m sure a lot of you might be saying “Show Me The Money”, I had to make a decisi
